Thin Lizzy to rock G Live in May

Rock news! Thin Lizzy will be playing G Live on the 16th May. Obviously, the line up in the above photo won’t be the one that plays Guildford. Band members Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton will be joined by guitarist Richard Fortus (Guns ‘N’ Roses), bassist Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake) and Ricky Warwick (The Almighty) on vocals. Tickets go onsale this Friday morning at 9am.

Four Short of a Miracle to play the Boileroom in April

Need a dose of punk right before Easter? Farnham-based Five Short of a Miracle will be playing a show at the Boileroom on the 2nd August. Support on the night comes from Follow Wyliss, who just had an EP launch gig at the same venue last week, and Goodnight Vienna. Tickets are onsale now for the bargain price of £4.

This Boy – Caring (Acoustic Version)

Ahead of their appearance at the Boileroom this Saturday, which is a free show alongside Fear No Fish and Chasinjade, This Boy have put a video of them playing Caring in what looks like a bedroom. Then again, where else would you put a bed, some microphones, a shelving unit with keyboards on it and an Xbox 360? Yes, exactly. Anyway, watch and enjoy.

Slow Club to play the Boileroom in May

Exciting news for fans of indie pop. Slow Club will be playing a headlining show at the Boileroom on the 3rd May. Tickets are £10 and they will go onsale this Friday morning. I’ve seen them a few times – twice in small venues and once at Scala in 2009 – and can’t recommend them enough.
