Matt Groening to take Deerhunter and Panda Bear to ATP
As previously mentioned, Matt Groening is to take charge of an ATP weekend next May. After announcing his first wave of acts a few weeks ago (including James Blackshaw and Anni Rossi) the Simpsons and Futurama creator has announced some more bands. Deerhunter will return to Butlin’s a year after being asked to play by last year’s curators, The Breeders. Also joining them is Panda Bear from Animal Collective performing a solo set, which will presumably include material from his upcoming follow-up to 2007’s Person Pitch. Amongst these two heavyweights are a bunch of other bands including Broadcast, Daniel Johnston, Amadou & Mariam.
