Goldfrapp to launch ‘head first’ into 2010
Goldfrapp have always made enchanting albums, regardless of its musical style. The band’s fifth album, Head First, is finished and will now see the light on the 22nd March 2010, the band’s first since 2008’s Seventh Tree, and is to be preceded by the single Rocket, out on the 8th March. The press statement describes the album as “most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance. With life affirming lyrics and stellar production it lifts off at full tilt and takes us on a journey to the heart of 2010,” which already has me thinking it may have more in common with their glitzy third album, Supernature. Either way, the album was once again written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory.
