I’m trying to do this as quickly as I can before the inevitable YouTube bots take the video down. Ray Davies appeared on Letterman last night to promote The Kinks Choral Collection and performed an absolutely sublime version of You Really Got Me, a song that is unbelievably 45 years old and still as good as any pop song you’ll ever hear. Davies is supported by his band and a very strong sounding choir and is worth watching for the moment when the familiar guitar chords kick in. The Kinks Choral Collection is out now and worth purchasing for versions like this.
