Vampire Weekend – Horchata
The hype machine for the next Vampire Weekend album, Contra, continues with solid pace as the band have released a taster song as a free download. Horchata, which is the term for several kinds of traditional beverages but you’ve probably been told this from at least five other blogs already, is a song that wouldn’t feel too out of place on the band’s debut album but the whole vibe is a lot more tropical than before. The vocal melody of Ezra Koenig makes for a song that, whilst not among the band’s best, is still rather catchy. You can go and get the song on their website right now or stream it.
