Kasabian planning Glastonbury ’surprise’

One of the bands that might well be worth the watch at Glastonbury this weekend, whether you’re actually there or watching on TV, will be Kasabian. Aside from the disappointing new album, they are still a premier act live and they might even have something rather special planned for their performance, according to Sergio Pizzorno, who also spoke to the NME about their feelings about playing before Bruce Springsteen:
I think we’re going to have a little guest on stage. Subject to said guest not getting out of it and orbiting Saturn when we’re on stage.
I can’t wait. I don’t want to jinx it, you never know especially in a band like ours, we are a rock ‘n’ roll outfit, but I’ve got a really good feeling about Saturday. It would be fucking great. It will be quite an evening I think. I’m really looking forward to playing before The Boss, it makes you raise your game, because he is – and I think the word gets used too much but he is one – a legend. You really want to set things up for him, just think how amazing his set is going to be, so we’re going to pull out all the stops before his set, hopefully we’ll surprise a few of his fans.
Stay tuned as tomorrow I kick off an armchair preview of Glastonbury 2009.
