Odds & Ends: Festival Edition for the 16th April 2009

Sonisphere have been adding more bands to their lineup. The newest additions are a mixed bag with the pop rock of Feeder and Frank Turner joining the likes to Taking Back Sunday and Skindred over the weekend of the 1st-2nd August in Knebworth. They join a bill that is set to be headlined by Linkin Park, Metallica and also features Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction. The organisers have also announced some great news for those young kiddie rockers (no I’m not talking about the Slipknot fanbase, I mean it literally) – they can go free providing they are accompanied by an adult with a separate ticket.
The ATP Nightmare Before Christmas returns this year at Butlin’s in Minehead between the 4th-6th December. This year the role of ‘curator’ falls to My Bloody Valentine and so far Sonic Youth, De La Soul, The Horrors, EPMD and the Sun Ra Arkestra alongside My Bloody Valetine have all been announced. Early bird tickets go onsale at 9am on the 24th April with a 20% discount. The rest of the tickets will be under a 10% discount until the 1st May.
Anyone planning on a trip to Coachella in April will be pleased to know that the set times have been revealed for the three day festival, set to take place this weekend and headlined by Paul McCartney, The Killers and The Cure. Also set to appear at the three day event are Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, M.I.A, TV On The Radio, Public Enemy and Paul Weller amongst many others.
