Who is tipped to play Reading/Leeds?

Reading

We are only a week away until the internet crashes due to the numbers of music fans trying to score themselves tickets for Reading & Leeds. Many people, me included, will be trying to bag tickets to see a weekend of music that looks set to be headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon and Radiohead. Stay tuned on Thursday as I’ll be posting a complete and comprehensive guide to buying tickets with the things you need to know and helpful tips. For now, I’ll briefly run down a list of bands that I’m predicting to be announced alongside the headliners next week:

Franz FerdinandEntirely possible and am predicting a main stage slot just before Arctic Monkeys.

Glasvegas - Usually the NME Awards tour headliner will then also headline the Radio 1/NME Tent so this is all but certain I feel.

Jane’s AddictionNo UK festival dates other than T In The Park and Oxegen and definitely a ‘Reading/Leeds’ band.

The Mars VoltaI can’t stand these guys but their live return this summer could also mean a main stage appearance.

Maxïmo ParkAlways playing this festival and should be a shoe-in, especially with a new album to promote.

Nick Cave And The Bad SeedsThis is more wishful thinking than anything.

Nine Inch NailsTrent Reznor’s motley crue currently have no English festival dates other than Sonisphere.

PlaceboThey’re always playing this festival and with a new album to promote I’d be surprised if they didn’t play.

TV On The RadioI’m predicting these guys to possibly headline the Festival Republic Stage.

Yeah Yeah YeahsAnother band who play the festival whenever the opportunity is there, like right now with a brand new album to promote.

That’s my guesses, but who do you reckon will play and do you agree with any of my picks?

  1. JA aren’t at sonisphere. ;)

  2. Placebo, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maximo Park and Glasvegas are all names that I’m certain will be on the lineup. I’m really hoping for NIN and Janes Addiction, and I think Weezer will be on there too. I reckon Patrick Wolf might play again as well?
