Odds & Ends for 17th March 2009

Ed O’Brien has revealed that Radiohead are planning to hit the studio this year. During last week’s inaugural Featured Artists’ Coalition meeting at the Heaven nightclub, Ed said: “We are working on new material. We’ll be doing some more recording. It’s business as usual.” He also then went on to say that the band plan to play a few dates in the summer following their current trek across South America.
Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails has written a long and lengthy explanation of his thoughts on ticket scalping and re-selling on the official NIN forums, claiming that bands often scalp tickets to their own shows. He also voices his concern regarding the possible Live Nation/Ticketmaster merger and he warns, with possible reference to comments made by a certain Billy Corgan last week: “Don’t buy from scalpers, and be suspect of artists singing the praises of the Live Nation/Ticketmaster merger. What’s in it for them?”
Bob Dylan will be releasing a new album this year. Together Through Life is set to be released in the UK on the 27th April and was self-produced by the American singer songwriter himself (under the alias of Jack Frost). For those who want to hear an interview with Bob about the new album, you can listen to it on his official website.
