Exclusive: Patrick Wolf to play Royal Albert Hall?
I’ve just got back from the Patrick Wolf gig at Heaven (full report tomorrow) but he has alluded at a possible show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in May. Before he introduced a new song he was explaining the live setup and said the following, to an extent as these may not be the actual words he used or the order of said words:
The next time we play here [London] it’ll be very different and at a much larger venue in May. It’ll have a string section. I can’t tell you where it is though.
This lead to a brief pause and annoyance from the fans, before Patrick pretty much let the cat of the bag by saying:
Think of the Proms and you’re there.
If this turns out to be true then I hope to dear God it does not clash with The Great Escape in Brighton. Patrick was tonight premiering new material in London for the first time from his upcoming album, The Bachelor, to be released on the 1st June.

nice to know you’re already spreading the word about it already :p patrick showcased his album with bandstock folks btw so London was the premier of it all
First time he’s played though with a full band. :p I think the Bandstocks performance was just him and a violinist.
