The Grammys: who is tipped to win?

This Sunday is the biggest night in the American recording industry, the Grammys. Award shows take second place these days to performances and the roster this year looks mightily impressive. MIA is performing on the same day that her baby is due (yes, a dose of WTF? right there) as are Coldplay and, making their first TV appearance in the US since 2000, Radiohead (who are rumoured to be performing with a marching band…).
If you to this part of the LA Times website you will find something called the Buzzmeter, that looks at who is being tipped to win. At present, Coldplay are being tipped to win Record and Song Of The Year (for Viva La Vida), whilst Robert Plant & Alison Krauss are being tipped to win Album Of The Year (although In Rainbows could give them a run for their money). It sounds like fancy pants predictions, and to be honest it is, but I find it amusing how every awards season the press has to do something to make the build-up vaguely interesting.
