It’s only recently that I’ve stumbled across a set of videos called Last.FM Presents. These are a set of videos comprising of live performances mostly from artists that they feel deserve your attention, as recommended by the popular social networking website itself. Their most recent one is of Icelandic singer songwriter Mugison. He is a solo artist who first garnered attention in 2003 as a one-man band. On his recent album, Mugiboogie, that changed as he enlisted the help of up to ten musicians at a time. The video below is a live version of Deep Breathing, a slow, poignant and eerie number that proves that being minimal can still produce something marvellously atmospheric and dreamy. The video was shot at Cargo in London last month.
