Patrick Wolf offers shares for Battles
The incredibly talented Patrick Wolf is set to release his fourth album next year. Battles is going to be a double album set, with one part based on light side of romance and the other based on the darker side of romance. So far, so conventional. But Patrick has split from his record label (Universal), so he only has his new label, Bloody Chamber Music, to release it on and not a lot of money to fund it. So how does he get round the problem? Invite fans to buy shares in the new album and entice them with special benefits and possibly, is Battles is anywhere as successful as The Magic Position, some profit. Confused? Patrick explains:
Basically, anyone can invest in a share of the album soon to be released. The more people that invest, the better the packaging, the better the mastering, the bigger the budget for videos and tours etc… the more fantastic the album is… the bigger the tribe… the bigger the battle, and bigger the victory in my language.
