Nine Inch Nails have a new drummer
Josh Freese, the current touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails, announced a few weeks ago that he would be leaving the tour after the end of the year. Many were wondering who would replace him, and my money was on Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls. I’m wrong. The new drummer is a twenty-year old called Ilan Rubin (no relation to Rick), who has been poached from Lostprophets. Trent Reznor explains:
I had the chance to see Ilan playing his ass off at Reading and Leeds a couple summers ago and he blew me away. We recently invited him out to rehearse with us and he blew US away – the perfect guy to pick up the sticks after Josh leaves us at the end of the year.
So surely he’ll blow audiences away, right? Read up a bit more about Ilan on his Wikipedia page, including how he was the youngest ever musician to play at Woodstock.
